CHILDHOOD...

The most innocent phase of one's life is undoubtedly their childhood..It is the phase when one constructs himself or herself in the way that he or she wishes to be.Therefore during this phase they should be allowed to do whatever they crave for, allowed to have fun and gala time and utilise their childhood to their utmost. Most of us often consider childhood to be the golden phase of our life..But unfortunately today's children are not free to enjoy their childhood to their heart's content.Starting from first standard in their school parents rush into the competition of making their child 'ALL ROUNDER' and the best.As a result they impose upon them various restrictions which is not at all desirable. They should be granted the permission to play, run through the lush green pastures, sing, dance, paint, read whatever they like.It is quite unfortunate that parents never realise their child's misery and often expect from them to become Don Bradman in Cricket,Maradona in Football,Jamini Ray in painting,Lata Mangeshkar ji in singing,Michael Jackson in dance,Prakash Padukone in badminton,Steffigraph in tennis and finally Rabindranath Tagore and Albert Einstein in academis..perhaps they can never fathom the miseries of their child who is basically a shy boy or girl and can never tell their father or mother that..''Mother,i don't love to dance...please don't urge me to dance any more...or please dont send me to the dancing school any more..''I have often seen some guardians who almost drag their children to those centres of learning against their will.I can never make them realise too how wrong it is on their part to expect so many things from a child at the same time..All that is needed to do in these cases is to leave the matter upon the child to decide their subject of interest...but certainly parents should guide them through a proper course of their life. They should let their child do willingly whatever he or she wants to do.I strongly believe that through this process a child might become an Albert Einstein or any other eminent personality and who knows that the world world will not respect him one day when he will grow up?..His parents will also be contented seeing their child established in a field. After all childhood is the stage of life when the human foundation are laid for a successful adult life...So why should one waste it by indulging in so many activities and not channelising their talent into any one stream?..Finally I want to say that the word' play' should not be removed from a child's dictionary and henceforth I agree with what American Actor Bill Cosby has said..''“The essence of childhood, of course, is play, which my friends and I did endlessly on streets that we reluctantly shared with traffic.''
