Upgradation of gadgets and degradation of values

Today when I sit down write something about improvement in technology thereby leading to upgradation of gadgets which includes smart phones I am already heading towards the edge of a sword..a slight mistake and you hack down yourself. If one wants to retreat, you have no option as you have to use whats app, you have to post pictures in instagram or facebook otherwise people might label you as 'backdated'. Even if you try hard, you are unable to go back to your traditional days when things were quite plain and simple. Certainly, teenagers using smartphones is not desirable but again the present society demands it from you and you just can't eschew it.In this way, are'nt we pushing our younger generation towards a doomed world where you see nothing but degradation of values? What I feel children are becoming most vulnerable members of society. They are loosing their innocence, loosing their habits of reading story books, creating anything on their own and ultimately ending upto either playing games in mobile or chatting with friends through whats app or facebook which is sheer wastage of time and energy- they hardly understand. Are we heading towards a hellish nightmare from which it will be impossible to save our children? Degradation of values has occured to a great extent as they are becoming mechanical. However, not only the teenagers are to be blamed, this menace is gripping each and every individual in the society..The institution of marriage has become a farce; who is to be trusted? neither of the partners in true sense of the term because you never know he/she might be continuing a relationship by communicating in whatsapp or facebook even after marriage because that person needs that space.I am ready to offer you a prize if you can point me put two people talking with each other without using or not even staring at their respective phones for once atleast. Even adults have been completely ensnared by the cobwebs of technology that he is not able to wriggle even to accomplish his tasks. Can't we rewind back to those days of having heart to heart conversations with friends, playing out in the lush green meadows or watching movies in VCR? Perhaps not..and this is the reason why we cannot get rid of the clutches of technology which is actually slow poisoning us. Technology has become ubiquitous these days and we can hardly survive without it. Ideas can only emerge in our mind and we cannot bring our plans to fruition; this is the difference. The present scenario is very dismal as I can fathom.May be a long walk to the traditional past in your dreams transport you away from the murky, mechanical world temporarily but again like Keats you have to jolt back into reality- the hardcore reality.
