BHOOTER BHOBISHHYOT..a comedy that is refreshingly funny,mood uplifting with enough comic elements to sit throughout the movie is probably the most simple way of describing the film.From the box office it's evident that Director Anik Dutta's debut feature 'Bhooter Bhobishhyot'' has appealed the hearts of all and sundry who have watched this flick and he deserves a 'kudos' for this wonderful creation.I was just bowled over after watching this entertaining film which not only refreshed me from head to toe but also opened my eyes towards certain aspects associated with film making..thought provoking indeed apart from being interesting.Chowdhury Palace,a huge mansion in North in Kolkata is inhabited by ghosts(ghosts that don't make the atmosphere spine chilling) who faces their 'identity crisis' and 'extermination' in the palace due to the intrusion of the vicious promoter 'Ganesh Bhutoria'(Mir) who wishes to construct a five storied shopping mall by demolising the palace.How the ghosts get rid of this wicked promoter forms the pivotal plot in the flick.Moreover ,the film within a film concept will surprise you once again from the beginning till the end.The performances of the ensemble cast is top notch including Parambrata Chattopadhay,Sabyasachi Chakraborty,Sumit Samaddar,Paran Bandhopadhay,George Bekar,Swastika Mukherjee,Mir,Samadarshi Dutta,Mumtaz Sorkar,Bibhu Bhattacharya,Monami Ghosh along with Saswata Chatterjee in the role of 'Haat kata Karthik' who serves as an icing on the cake.The witty humourous pun-laced dialogues comprising of catchy one liners will definitely evoke laughter amongst the viewers.This is a blending of a perfect script,great editing,wonderful camera work involving chiaroscura techniques especially towards the last part of the flick by Avik Mukhopadhhay. The film lacks eerie,horrifying effects as expected in a ghost movie,because it's a fun filled world of ghosts where everybody are welcomed to laugh and enjoy.Moreover,the film spans the history,politics and the whole social structure of Bengal starting from the battle of Plassey till the modern period.All in all,one of the most intelligent and satiric comedies in recent times that will make you say at the end''Kolkatar Bhoot..Zindabad or three cheers for the ghosts of Bhooter Bhobishhyot''.A must watch for all if you wanna get respite from the worries and anxieties of your real life's hectic schedule.
